Creamy beef
I had some cubes of beef fillet in the freezer and made this quick and easy dish for supper. Really delicious, you could add mushrooms as well. It must be fillet of beef as it’s only cooked for a few minutes and other cuts would be too tough. The sherry gives the dish a touch of sweetness which works very well.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Heat a spoonful of olive oil plus a small knob of butter in a frying pan or wok.
* Step 2
Gently fry the thinly sliced onion until soft.
* Step 3
Remove onion from pan and fry the beef until just cooked - it only takes a few minutes.
* Step 4
Add the sherry and heat through.
* Step 5
Now add the creme fraiche and onion, and stir over a low heat until you have a smooth sauce. Serve with rice or sauté potatoes.
