Red Pumpkin Halwa

A light, easy, yummy and nutritious dessert to satiate your sweet cravings during a fast and even otherwise!

Ingredient

1/2 cup

milk

1/2 teaspoon

salt

1.5 teaspoon

ghee

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Pressure cook/boil the pumpkins with salt and enough water until tender

* Step 2

Discard the water used to cook them and mash them well in a bowl

* Step 3

In a wok, melt ghee and brown the cashews and almonds and keep them aside

* Step 4

Add the mashed pumpkin and sauté for 2-3 minutes on medium heat

* Step 5

Add milk and sugar and bring it boil after mixing welll

* Step 6

Reduce heat now and let the halwa simmer and cook to the desired consistency

* Step 7

Keep stirring ever 2-3 minutes

* Step 8

Just as the halwa is ready to be taken off heat stir in he ground cardamom powder

Take off heat and serve pumpkin halwa garnished with sautéed cashews and almonds
