1 . Vegemite & Chilli Puff Pastry Twists

Vegemite & Chilli Puff Pastry Twists

Vegemite & Chilli Puff Pastry Twists

Vegemite, the iconic Australian savoury spread. I hated it for many years, but I enjoy it now. The other day, I made Vegemite & Cheese Puff Pastry Twists. It seems many people are making them, but I found they tasted very bland. I decided to add ground Chilli, and it was a good idea. Chilli and Vegemite are a good match. You got to try it if you have never eaten Vegemite and Chilli together.

grated Parmesan

3 . Custard Puff Pastry Twists

Custard Puff Pastry Twists

Custard Puff Pastry Twists

There is a baked pastry called ‘Escargot’ and I love it. The one that a local bakery is selling has Custard and Sultanas in it. These ‘Puff Pastry Twists’ are inspired by the bakery’s ‘Escargot’. It takes only a few minutes to make the Custard in the microwave. Using store-bought Frozen Butter Puff Pastry, these delicious Twists are super easy to make.

Ingredient

2 tablespoons

Caster Sugar

1/4 cup

Milk

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

To make Custard, whisk all the ingredients in a heat-proof bowl until smooth, heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, whisk, then heat again and bring to the boil. Whisk until smooth, then cool.

* Step 2

Preheat oven to 200℃. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

* Step 3

Place a sheet of Butter Puff Pastry on a floured surface, cut in half, evenly spread cooled Custard, scatter Sultanas on one of 1/2 sheet, cover with the other half, and press slightly.

* Step 4

Cut into 3 pieces, then cut each piece into 4 strips. *Note: If you don’t add Sultanas, you could cut each piece into 6 strips.
Image step 4 Image step 4

Caster Sugar

1/2 teaspoon

Ground Cinnamon

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Preheat oven to 200℃. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

* Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180℃. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
