Tomato slices with garlic sauce and sumac

Fresh vegetables accompany every meal on a Lebanese table from breakfast to dinner. This recipe is usually made with “banadoura jabaliyyeh” literally translated to “mountain tomato”. I’m not sure what’s the type of that tomato but it’s big, meaty, very flavorful and refreshing.

Ingredient

1 tablespoon

mayonnaise

1 tablespoon

yogurt or labneh

Pinch

sumac

Now back to the recipe! Cut the tomato into big rounded slices and place on a big plate

* Step 4

Mix the yogurt or labneh with the mayonnaise, olive oil, and crushed garlic in a bowl

* Step 5

Spread almost a teaspoon of the garlic sauce on each tomato slice and add a pinch of salt and sumac on each with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
