Atte Ka Halwa

The festival of Karwa chauth is a special one for ladies. It is celebrated to mark the love between couples where women fast and pray for their husband's wellness and long life. After a day of fasting and prayers, the women dress in fineries, ( gorgeous clothes and jwellery) and assemble their Puja items, perform Puja together! In the evening, the moon is seen first through a sieve and then the face of their husband after which the fast is broken and delicious preparations are served and eaten. This is a beautiful occasion. Ingredient

besan/ chickpea flour

1 cup

Milk

1/4 cup

Raisins

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

First, heat ghee in a kadhai. Add cardamom powder, cashews, and raisins. Then add the whole wheat flour, and chickpea flour, and roast on slow flame for 8 to, 10 minutes till aromatic.

Then, add the milk slowly and let the flours absorb it.

Then strain and add the jaggery water and keep stirring till combined. Add 1 tablespoon extra ghee and switch off the heat.

* Step 4

Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with cashews. You may offer it to god and serve to family. Happy festival!
