Beetroot Nuggets

This recipe is given by Mrs. Anita Kumari, a farmer of sub-project Dehri Kuhal, BPMU Nurpur. It is a dehydrated product which are healthy, colorful and is prepared by mixing, crushed beetroot, bottle gourd and spices, in presoaked and ground black gram (dehusked). These nuggets are rich in calcium, iron and vitamin A and can be used as ingredient in the preparation of Biryani and sabji.

Ingredient

Food ration :

350 g approx.

Cooking time :

60 minutes + 2 days for drying

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Soak black gram in water for 6-7 hours or overnight.

* Step 2

In a food processor, grind the soaked black gram until smooth in texture.

* Step 3

In it, add crushed beetroot and bottle gourd along with spices.

* Step 4

Mix it properly.

* Step 5

Take a plastic sheet grease it with oil.

* Step 6

Make small nuggets of the paste and place on the sheet.

* Step 7

Dry these nuggets for 2 days till dried completely.

* Step 8

Store under airtight container.
