Idli Batter Sandwich

Idli Batter Sandwich

Quick and delicious grilled sandwich made out of leftover idli/dosa batter, stuffed with tasty spicy potato

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat oil for cooking in a wok

* Step 2

Temper with hing, curry leaves,cumin seeds

* Step 3

Add chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste and sauté till translucent

* Step 4

Add the potatoes, salt and dry spices now

* Step 5

Mix well and sauté 2 minutes

* Step 6

Once done, add water and cook covered till potatoes soften

* Step 7

Once the water is completely absorbed and potato soften, take off heat and mash the potatoes

* Step 8

Now grease the grill pan or sandwich maker with butter /oil and let it heat

* Step 9

Mix the salt needed to the idli batter and water if any(if too thick)

* Step 10

Mix well and full the sandwich maker with 1 tablespoon batter

* Step 11

Add 1 tablespoon of potato curry prepared on the batter

* Step 12

Cover the curry completely like a sandwich with 1 tablespoon batter

* Step 13

Now grill like any normal sandwich till crisp and ready

* Step 14

Take off heat carefully and serve warm with chutneys/ ketchup and piping hot filter coffee

* Step 15

Enjoy while warm!
