Tomato saaru - simple

Ingredient

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash toor dal. Soak in water for 15-20 minutes (optional) Cook in cooker. Once cooked, Pour 1 glass of water and mash with laddle to smooth consistency.

* Step 2

Transfer cooked dal to a small pot. Add chopped tomato. Add tamaring juice, jaggery, rasam powder, salt and hing. Boil for 5-10 mins. Adjust quantities as per taste. If you add more tamaring juice boil it for some more time.

* Step 3

(optional) Add tadka - Ghee, mustard, udad dal, dried red chilli, curry leaves.
