Onion chutney

Ingredient

Food ration :

3-4 persons

Cooking time :

15 minutes
2 tsp

chana dal

1 tbsp

peanuts

1/2 inch

ginger

1/2 tsp

cumin seeds

1 dash

hing

as per taste

Salt

1 tsp

oil

as reqiued

Few curry leaves

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a kadhai heat oil. Splutter cumin seeds. Add coriander seeds, dry red chilli, ginger, chana dal, peanuts. Saute for sometime. Next add chopped onion. Put salt, hing.

* Step 2

Mix and fry for sometime till onions become translucent. As it's done.switch the flame off. Let it cool.

* Step 3

Now in a blender jar put the cooled chutney mix, add tamarind, little water and grind smooth. Transfer into a serving dish.

* Step 4

Next heat a tadka pan with oil. Splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds and add dry red chilli and curry leaves. Put the tadka into the chutney. Mix and serve with dosa/ idli/ vada.
