Aloo Bharta

A Bangladeshi version of mashed potatoes with garlicky flavour served as a side dish with rice & curry.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Boil potatoes and grate

Heat mustard oil in a small pan till it starts to smoke, When the smell of the oil reduces, add chopped garlic and red chilles.

* Step 3

Fry for a few minutes (do not burn) and grind this mixture

* Step 4

In the same pan fry, sliced onion till soft and light brown

* Step 5

Take a large bowl & mix all ingredients

Mix well till fully combined. Taste and adjust the salt

Serve warm with ghee on top

If u really want to relish the Bangladeshi Aloo Bhorta,do not skip the mustard oil. Mustard oil is primary Ingredient in most of the Bengali dishes.
