Ratalyacha Sheera (sweet potato sheera)
On the wonderful occasion of Women's day which celebrates the Shakti or woman power and on the divine day of Mahashivratri, which celebrates Shiva and his union with Shakti, I prepared this bhog for Lord Shiva and Shakti, and I am dedicating this delicious recipe to all the beautiful, courageous, wonderful and ever so loving women of my life! To my mom, who made me what I am today. Thank you mom! Note : Ratale is called Sweet potato in Marathi. Therefore the name Ratalyacha Sheera ( halwa)

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
First, mash the peeled sweet potato and remove any lumps.
* Step 2
Heat ghee in a thick bottom pan, add cardamom powder and nuts. Saute well on low heat.. Remove the nuts for later use as a garnish.

Then saute the mashed sweet potato for 7 to 8 mins. Then add the sugar or jaggery. Mix till it melts.
* Step 4
Add the crushed pedhas and combine well. Saute for 2 minutes and switch off the heat.
* Step 5
Serve garnished with chopped nuts and offer to lord Shiva as it's the divine day of Mahashivratri. Then enjoy with your mom and all the special women of your lifeas it's women's day too!
